Review - By Marion Douglas
1994, Inner Words Magazine.
Local Sacramento psychic, Nancy Matz, has just published a winner! Her first book, Two Worlds: Developing Your psychic Skills has more information crammed between its cover than most encyclopedias! For example: There's information on Matz's growth-filled and surprising experiences as Nancy discovers her down psychic abilities. There are vignettes about her humorous and sometimes frustrating contacts with spirits. There are tender stories, unusual stories, loving stories about her work with clients. There are thought provoking, soul searching episodes as Matz carves out and defines her own beliefs in the hereafter
As the author reveals her own search for answers to life's quests and meaning She asks some touch questions of herself that are bound to give us some insightful thoughts. This book definitely provides the reader with some comfort and reassurance about the afterlife.
All the personal vignettes are woven together to provide the reader with some clearly delineated, concrete, non-nonsense advice on developing and using your own psychic abilities.
The book has had an added benefit. It provides the reader with fascinating insights into how Nancy Matz's psychic talents work. These insights enable you to form better questions when seeing a psychic, thus providing a clearer feedback from the spirit.
Two Worlds: Developing Your Psychic Skills, offers something that's useful and fun for most everyone. It is a helpful book for anyone who has ever consulted a psychic or is thinking about doing so. Student psychics will want to add this book to their library.
As Matz states in her book, "Relax and enjoy the unlimited joy in learning your true nature and your greatest potential as a psychic spiritual human being."
Book Description by Author - Nancy Matz
Through the tragic circumstances of breast cancer and divorce, I began a personal quest for happiness and my purpose. I looked for a meaning of life and thanked God for my recovery from cancer. I discovered I had a strong psychic gift and began a spiritual guest to identify and develop those abilities. I also identified the many questions we humans think about almost every day like: "What about the hereafter and spirit beings? These beings who exit in other dimensions or other realities?" We struggle with these ideas that we are not the only living beings in the universe.
In 1990 I became an intuitive counselor and discovered I could see, hear and feel other dimensional beings. Yes, I am very psychic, but how does that help you "The Reader" of this book? First, I will tell fun, exciting and even bizarre stories of the world of the psychic. And secondarily, I am going to give "The Reader" very basic developmental information on how to become more intuitive/psychic. I want "The Reader" to get as excited as I was the first time I saw and felt the presence of another dimensional being! "The Reader" will learn through simple easy-to-follow steps to access their higher self, guides, or to communicate with their angels! To access, and to monitor the wonderful exciting psychic world around us is to alleviate the fear of death. To understand that we, as energy beings do survive "The Transition." Included are drawings and photographs to help explain psychic abilities and experiences.
Through the last nine years of being an intuitive counselor I discovered Spirit is part of each of our personal lives, giving guidance, encouragement and unconditional love. Several powerful prayers I received from spirit are included to help us in our personal quest for spiritual growth.
About the Author
At 39 Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer, at 40 she divorced after 21 years of marriage. On her 42nd Birthday she said a prayer, "Thank You for my life and my sanity, and if You wish, I will work for You the rest of my Life." A new direction was shown to her and she readily accepted the challenge to help as many people that asked for her help using her psychic gifts.
Lee Russell, Artist/Editor for Evolving Times Magazine, said in 1994, "Her enthusiasm for life, learning, and creative solutions is contagious. Her laughter is infectious. It's an "ease" we would all like to catch. She describes herself as the "quintessential skeptic" with an overactive analytical mind - with left-brained corporate skills she has honed for over twenty years."
She currently lives in Northern California, has two grown children and two grandchildren. She lectures and works throughout her home state of California, with phone clients across the United States and abroad. Nancy is currently writing her 2nd book, "Two Worlds: Life...Death...and Beyond", and her 3rd "Two Worlds: Spirits and Angels".
Books also available at Barnes & Noble Stores or online at www.barnesandnoble.com , www.amazon.com and Borders on www.borders.com. Books can also be found at East/West Bookstore in Sacramento, and Spirit of Grace in the Citrus Heights, CA areas.

Biography: Nancy Matz, Local Author, Psychic and Author Again!
by Melanie N. Light
Nancy was the first, and so far only Psychic, I've ever gone to see. I had briefly talked with her on the phone when arranging our meeting, so I already had the sense that she was as down to earth as the rest of us.
It was about two years ago - I was nervous when arriving at her place, but less about how she came across and more fearful of what might come out of me. But I was seeking guidance, was open to it and was quite curious as to what might unfold.
A discerning skeptic by nature, it was odd that I really never doubted her. I looked for clues about how a psychic mind works, and questioned the process, but hardly doubted that she had something to offer me.
Nancy was disarming. She wanted me to get as much as possible from our session. She talked fast and was full of information. She was honest~ in that she didn't sugar-coat or tiptoe around anything, but had compassion nonetheless. And she knows how people operate. "We all seek out the level of help to which we will hear it.' Hmmm. That alone is food for thought"
Most people do seem to relate to Nancy. She's personable and friendly. She takes the stigma out of such 'questionable' things as the psychic arts without even trying. Less about the trivial details that can be gleaned from a psychic eye, she's more interested in helping you become happier, find your calling, get more out of life. She knows the whole process of existence can be daunting and trying, and she utilizes her abilities, gifts, senses and energies to help others.
Help! Get Me Out of This Funk! is Nancy's second published book. (The first is Two Worlds: Developing Your Psychic Skills). The title is catchy and succinct - The book delivers just what I inferred from it: Understanding, empathy, action and results!
"I really want people to be happier" Nancy said to me. "I realized I was really hungry to help people…” She's been through as much as the rest of us, if not more. And she utilizes her experiences to help others, but is still not limited by them. One of her extremely redeeming traits: She doesn't separate herself from the rest of us. She calls herself a teacher, but knows she is also a learner. "We're all always learning. There are opportunities everywhere," in every moment, space, place and time. She comes from a place where there is meaning to everything.
Funk is fast, easy and readable. Nancy writes like she talks. And she does this deliberately, because people like to hear her talk. And she knows this helps them somehow feel at ease. I think about it and agree. The manner in which someone talks to you is almost as important as what they say.
"I'm just like anybody else," Nancy says. "Things slow us down
to depression, can't get going, afraid of the work and momentum of success..." Nancy swoops in and picks up where we often leave off, stunted and struggling to get out of the stickiness we occasionally find ourselves wading in like an ant through molasses.
"We're all intuitive. We have the insight regarding what’s going to happen next. But we get stuck." This inner conflict has claimed a great deal of my life, as well, so I feel like she's talking to me specifically. "We're always looking for something outside of us, looking into the future, but we don't know how to get there." She continues, "But the key to 'there,' is being and embracing 'here' more often than we do." (This is a dichotomy I faced for along time). But listen carefully - she's giving us the answers. She's teaching us about the process, and how to move with it and out of our ruts.
"I want people to be happy where they are now." It's almost as if she's challenging us - But not in a taunting way - In a positive, benevolent, productive, get-moving kind of way. What will it take to be happy right now, in this very moment?
(You mean it's ok to expect to he happy?! I used to ask silently. Coming into the adult world quite some time ago, I really began to question this. But I don't anymore). Go ahead and brainstorm. Tell yourself what you really want out of life.
Nancy wants people to give themselves a break and realize they are where they are for a reason. Every place you end up is a stepping stone. Understanding this process helps break apart the rut we sometimes find ourselves in. We're disillusioned because we don't understand, we assume we’re doing something wrong. But this keeps us stuck. Molasses. Mud. Stagnation.
A little More Optimism, Please
"I had forgotten how fun life was. Making choices is fun. As a human being you have control. That is exciting! People are afraid to be excited about life and afraid of making choices, but this knowledge should liberate them. It's almost too easy. Get it?"
"As if we make things harder than they have to be," I conclude, definitely getting it. "Sometimes we feel a singularity, like we're standing so alone in the universe." But this also means "I'm totally in control of my life!" Nancy says. Change the way you look at things. Alter your perspective, do yourself a favor and err on the side of optimism!
"Always be open to thinking you have more to learn. It can be exciting having new things in front of you. That's how you should look at it. Rather than feeling daunted, getting lost within your confusion or getting caught up in the "why, why, why me's. "If we were perfect, we'd be walking on water and wearing sandals." Are you getting it? Give yourself a break, acknowledge the process and keep moving through it, envisioning a place that makes you happiest.
Knowing my own periods of angst, I asked Nancy how many of us go through these times of turmoil. I was surprised by her answer but also found comfort in it, only because it reaffirmed that these experiences are natural for all of us. "We all go through periods of defining where we are - roughly once a year. We're in a constant flux of trying to figure out if where we are is OK." Reaffirming our choices, the realities of those choices. Part of the process. Meaning, there's meaning within your questions and your insecurities. But that doesn't mean you have to let it get the best of you. You are here to become the best you can be, to meet your potential. Now that spells happiness.
"We truly ask to be born and ask for this
experience," Nancy explains. So why not step into it
fully, embrace it, see where it leads you with some
faith that things are meant to be. But not
necessarily
meant to be
stagnant. You're meant to move along the axis of
your life.
As there is dark with light and yin with yang, there is suffering with bliss too. We can just get stuck within the suffering, the lamenting part, forgetting how a lifetime well spent is spent reaching for the bliss parts. "As frustrated as I can be, I turn it around and accept that as part of the process," Nancy concludes, again letting us know that she is as human as the rest of us, but still gets out there and cheers for us every day of her life.*
A little more about this book.......
A friend connects with you and shares a troubling situation; you sympathize and give advice based on your own life experiences.
Experience the "session" of Debbie and her dilemma. You will be "listening in" to her emotional low's, frustrations, her laughter at herself and the eventual "I got it!" uplifting revelations. She has a child-like laughter, is a 30 "something" single lady in a career changing situation, having just broken up with a long-time relationship. Her anger with the "Him" in her life and starting a new career situation has caused Debbie to "Be in a Funk".
Debbie's story is taken from an actual session via telephone three years ago. I have combined her session with material from two lectures, "Staying Vertical in a Horizontal World" and "Talking to our Angels", to create a comprehensive look at being stuck, blocked, in the funk and easy-to-understand tools to recover, reclaim, and to be more centered in your own life.
Enjoy the chapters taken from the lecture, "Talking to our Angels" to learn how to: "Trust your Instincts", "How to connect with your Angel Guides", "Accepting your humaneness for asking and the awesome joy of not asking for Angel assistance".
Through life's experiences shall we teach each other.
